Getting Started

Make a free Plex account

Go to plex.tv/sign-up and create a free account. Remember the email you use.

Request access below

Scroll down to the Request Access form and enter your name and the email you signed up with. I'll add you to the server (usually same day).

Download the Plex app

Get the app on your phone, tablet, or TV (see below). Sign in with your Plex account.

Start watching

Once you're added, the library shows up automatically. Want something that's not there? Request it.

Plex is on just about every TV and streaming device. Pick yours:

Roku
  1. From the Roku home screen, go to Streaming Channels → Search Channels.
  2. Search for Plex and select Add Channel.
  3. Open Plex and sign in.
Amazon Fire TV / Fire Stick
  1. From the Fire TV home screen, search for Plex.
  2. Select the Plex app and choose Download / Get.
  3. Open it and sign in.
Android TV / Google TV
  1. Open the Google Play Store on your TV.
  2. Search for Plex and install it.
  3. Open it and sign in.
Apple TV
  1. Open the App Store on your Apple TV.
  2. Search for Plex and install it.
  3. Open it and sign in.
Samsung TV (Tizen)
  1. Open Samsung Apps / Smart Hub.
  2. Search for Plex and install it.
  3. Open it and sign in.
LG TV (webOS)
  1. Open the LG Content Store.
  2. Search for Plex and install it.
  3. Open it and sign in.
Game Consoles (Xbox / PlayStation)
  1. Open the console's store (Microsoft Store or PlayStation Store).
  2. Search for Plex and install it.
  3. Open it and sign in.
Any Web Browser
  1. Go to app.plex.tv in any browser.
  2. Sign in with your Plex account — no install needed.
Requesting Content

Want a movie or show that isn't in the library yet? Easy:

Go to the requests site

Search & request

Find what you want and hit Request. That's it.

Get notified

You'll get an email when it's ready to watch.
